This year, instead of having a permanent studio assistant -Pioneer Studios decided to employ a small pool of freelance photographer’s assistants to handle and set up the equipment for its studio clientele.
Our reasons being the following:
- We would like to help photographer assistants learn the craft by giving them the opportunity to work in a professional studio setting.
- · We would like to help photographer’s assistants market their skills by allowing them to showcase their work directly to our studio clientele for other possible jobs outside of the studio.
- · As a professional rental studio we always strive to give the best possible service with a staff that is attentive, detail oriented and trustworthy.
Although these photographer’s assistants will be available for hire outside of the studio (Contact details and published rates are to follow) when they assist at Pioneer it will still be free-of-charge but we will ask our clientele to reward their respective assistants with a commensurate tip.
As a basic guideline tips should be 5%-10% of the clients studio rental total (prior to taxes).
Upon paying for your studio rental bill the receptionist will provide a small envelope for the photographer’s assistant tip. Not to worry, your tip will be given to your respective assistant!
